Nova Star Awards was born from a simple idea: young performers deserve to be seen, celebrated and given opportunities to shine.
The concept was created by three industry moms, Loralie, Tara and Vanessa, who understood firsthand the joys and challenges of raising children in the entertainment industry. Between their families, they had experienced auditions, workshops, film and television sets, voiceover studios, live theatre and more.
They wanted to create something positive: a place where young performers could celebrate their achievements, connect with other industry families and build confidence.
In 2025, Melissa Chung Productions took over Nova Star, beginning an exciting new chapter while continuing the original spirit of celebrating young talent and creating meaningful opportunities.
Because in an industry where opportunities don't always come knocking, sometimes you have to create your own opportunity to shine.
Nova Star Awards — celebrating the stars of today and creating opportunities for the stars of tomorrow. It has expanded beyond acting into recognizing, inspiring and empowering Canada’s next generation of talent in fashion, modelling, performance and the creative arts.
