Nova Star Awards is proud to enter an exciting new chapter under the leadership of Melissa Chung — producer, entrepreneur, community builder, and passionate advocate for emerging youth talent.

Melissa is the owner of Nova Star Awards and a driving force behind the next generation of artists and performers. Through her work in film and the opening of the TIFF Melissa Chung Studio, she has helped create spaces where creativity, culture, and opportunity come together.

As a mother, Melissa recognized the gaps facing young people pursuing careers in the arts and entertainment industry. 

Inspired to create accessible opportunities for youth, she built solutions through Nova Star Awards and launched free acting classes for youth in Scarborough, helping young performers build confidence, develop their talents, and pursue their dreams in a supportive environment.

Under Melissa’s leadership, Nova Star Awards continues its mission of celebrating excellence in film, television, music, dance, theatre, modelling, and performance arts while inspiring the next generation of storytellers, creators, and entertainers.
